My name is Jeannie Goldman, the kids call me Teacher Jeannie. I have been teaching art to kids for 45 years—it’s my dream job. My art school is called Creative Art For Young Children and I teach 4 sessions a year, winter, spring, summer, and fall. Teaching through the seasons is a beautiful way to follow in the footsteps of Mother Nature and most importantly it helps kids develop a deep appreciation for the gifts she bestows on us every day. Keeping children connected to the natural world is so important, especially in this day and age when we find ourselves constantly glued to computer screens. We can all lead healthier, happy lives if we take the time to venture outside and immerse ourselves in the beauty of the natural world.

Peeking under the many layers of 10 Fall Art Projects

While writing our book Your Own World, there was so much I wanted to share with all of you when it comes to teaching art to kids, more than I could possibly fit within the pages of one book. So we (my son and I), created this website not only to sell our book, but provide a place for me to share all the things that go beyond Your Own World’s 184 pages, and allow us to dig deeper into my teaching philosophy and creative process, plus some simple art projects, and more ways to share the world of art with your kids and students.

I will also be posting all kinds of musings, poems, and artsy things to inspire you to see that art is everywhere. Yes, art is all around us and we are all artists—it makes us happy. When we are the creator of something we feel good about ourselves. Art can be found when we are humming a tune, writing a letter with pen and paper from our heart, planting a flower, painting our toenails, watching a sunset, building a sand castle, eating a colorful salad, and reading a beautiful picture book to a child. Art isn’t just something hanging in a museum, it is with us every day of our lives.

My hope with our book Your Own World and this website is to bring to the world a greater awareness of the little child in all of us who is curious and sees the world we live in as an incredible place of wonder.
